วัดสำคัญที่สุดในเขตอรัญญิก สันนิษฐานว่าคือวัดป่ามะม่วง สถานที่จำพรรษาของสมเด็จพระมหาธรรมราชาลิไทเมื่อทรงผนวช โปรดให้ทำศิลาจารึก 4 หลักเล่าเหตุการณ์ต่างๆ และเล่าถึงเขตป่ามะม่วงว่าได้รับการตกแต่งให้งดงาม ร่มรื่น สมเป็นสถานที่บำเพ็ญศีล เจริญธรรม และในบริเวณนี้ยังมีอารามที่ชื่อว่า "สีโทน" เป็นที่ประทับจำพรรษาของพระมหาอุทุมพระบุปผาสวามี ที่เดินทางมาจากเมืองนครพันของมอญเพื่อเป็นพระอุปัชฌาย์ของสมเด็จพระมหาธรรมราชาลิไทเมื่อ พ.ศ.1905 หากเดินทางออกจากประตูเมืองสุโขทัยทางด้านทิศตะวันตกที่เรียกว่า "ประตูอ้อ" วัดศรีโทนจะเป็นโบราณสถานแห่งที่สองที่ได้พบ ตั้งอยู่ด้านขวามือ สถาปัตยกรรมประธานเป็นอาคารผังรูปสี่เหลี่ยมจัตุรัส ที่มีเสาขนาดใหญ่มากอยู่ที่มุมทั้ง 4 ด้าน เดิมอาจจะเป็นอาคารที่เรียกว่า "มณฑป" ใช้เป็นที่ประดิษฐานพระพุทธรูปหรือสิ่งศักดิ์สิทธิ์สำคัญ แต่ปัจจุบัน ภายในอาคารของวัดศรีโทนแห่งนี้ไม่เหลือร่องรอยอะไรแล้ว โดยรอบวิหารมีร่องรอยของเจดีย์รายอยู่ด้วย ตามคตินิยมแล้ว วัดป่าซึ่งเป็นที่จำพรรษาของพระสงฆ์ฝ่ายวิปัสสนาธุระ มักไม่มีสิ่งก่อสร้างขนาดใหญ่หรือสลับซับซ้อน เพราะพระสงฆ์ฝ่ายนี้เน้นการปฏิบัติ บำเพ็ญสมาธิภาวนา อบรมจิตใจให้บริสุทธิ์ปราศจากกิเลศ มักจำพรรษาอยู่ในป่าหรืออารามในป่าที่มีระยะห่างจากบ้านเรือนพอเดินบิณฑบาตไปถึงเท่านั้น พระสงฆ์ฝ่ายนี้คงได้รับการยอมรับนับถือมากในสมัยสุโขทัย ดังพบว่ามีเขตอรัญวาสีอยู่นอกเมืองโบราณสมัยสุโขทัยเกือบทุกแห่ง ดูข้อมูลเพิ่มเติมได้ที่ Link : http://www.phraruangheritage.com/th/travel_historicalpark_sukhothai_wat_sri_thon.php
