The Imperial State Crown.

The Imperial State Crown is the crown worn by Queen Elizabeth at the State Opening of Parliament, generally once a year. The
current version was made in 1937, and was adjusted to fit the Queen in 1953. It is roughly 12" tall, and weighs just over 2 pounds.
Among over 3,000 precious stones are four of note: The Cullinan II diamond, St Edward's Sapphire, the Black Prince's Ruby, and the
Stuart Sapphire, as well as three pearls owned by Elizabeth I.

The George VI State Diadem

The George IV State Diadem, also known as the Diamond Diadem, is worn by the Queen to the State Opening of Parliament; the Queen also wore it in the procession to her coronation. It has appeared in portraits and photographs of the Queen, and she shown wearing it on the money of many of the Commonwealth countries. The diadem was commissioned by King George IV in 1820, and created by the Crown jewelers Rundle and Bridge. It includes 1333 diamonds weighing in excess of 320 carats, including a four carat yellow diamond. Between the crosses are roses, thistles and shamrocks, the flowers of England, Ireland and Scotland.

The Queen in the Imperial State Crown and Royal Regalia
The Imperial State Crown is part of the Crown Jewels, and is on view at the Tower of London. Prior to a State Opening of Parliament, held at least annually, the crown is transported down the Thames River from the Tower by The Queen's Bargemen, and arrives at the Houses of Parliament in its own carriage, where it is kept in the Robe Room until the Queen arrives. The Queen arrives at the Houses of Parliament by carriage, wearing a white gown and the State Diadem. She pauses in the robing room, where she dons the crown and royal regalia. A formal procession to the House of Lords begins the Queen's role in the ceremony.

The Imperial State Crown
Traditionally worn by the Queen to and from the State Opening of Parliament, this headpiece has been passed down to her through the generations, after it was originally made for King George IV’s coronation. Featuring almost 3,000 diamonds and 269 pearls, 17 sapphires and 11 emeralds, it weighs 2.3lb, and, as she reached well into her 90s, eventually became too heavy for the monarch to wear. Instead, it was carried to and from the State Opening by the Lord Great Chamberlain, the Marquess of Cholmondeley.

The Grand Duchess Vladimir Tiara

Said to be one of the Queen’s favourite headpieces, the Grand Duchess Vladimir Tiara has a thrilling history. It was originally made for the eponymous owner in 1874, who had it smuggled out of Russia during the revolution of 1917 by two British friends posing as servants. It was later bought at auction by the Queen’s grandmother, Queen Mary, who was a keen jewellery collector. The elegant looped diamond design allows for customisation, with either pearls or emeralds attached.

The Burmese Ruby Tiara

The Burmese Ruby Tiara was particularly close to the Queen’s heart, as it was made using a wedding gift. In 1976, she approached the court jeweller Garrard to use the 98 rubies she had been gifted by the people of Myanmar (a Commonwealth country, formerly known as Burma) to make a new headpiece. The stones are thought to ward off evils and illnesses in Burmese culture, so it certainly raised some eyebrows when Her Majesty chose to wear it for former US President Donald Trump’s state visit.

Queen Mary’s Girls of Great Britain and Ireland Tiara

Given to Queen Mary on her wedding day to King George V as a gift from her ladies-in-waiting, the Girls of Great Britain and Ireland Tiara is another headpiece that our Queen inherited via her grandmother, and is affectionately known within the family as ‘granny’s tiara’. It is thought to have been one of Her Majesty’s favourites, as she was often seen wearing it, and is even pictured wearing it on some bank notes. Its original pearls were removed and incorporated the Cambridge Lovers’ Knot Tiara.

Queen Mary’s Fringe Tiara

Worn recently by Her Majesty’s granddaughter Princess Beatrice on her wedding day, Queen Mary’s Fringe Tiara held particular sentimental value for the Queen, as she had also been lent it by her grandmother, Queen Mary, when she married Prince Philip in 1947. Featuring 47 bars of diamonds, it famously snapped when the Queen was getting ready for the wedding, and had to be driven to Garrard to be fixed.

The tiara: The Girls of Great Britain & Ireland Tiara.

The history: Easily Queen Elizabeth II's favourite and most-worn tiara, it was originally created for Queen Mary of Teck. The tiara was commissioned as a gift by a committee of aristocratic women who called themselves the 'Girls of Great Britian and Ireland,' hence the name.

The history: Created for Grand Duchess Maria Pavlovna of Russia, this tiara is made up of 15 diamond circles interlinked. The hanging pearls can be swapped out for diamonds or emeralds.

The history: Originally belonging to Princess Louise of Belgium in 1858, the Queen bought this tiara to add to her collection.

The history: This special piece, made in 1820, has been worn by four queens so far: Queen Victoria, Alexandra, Mary and Elizabeth II. It's one of the more symbolic ones, as it's only worn by queens.

The history: This tiara comes as part of a set gifted to Queen Elizabeth II for her coronation in 1953 by the President of Brazil. It is made up of emerald-cut aquamarines and diamonds.

The St. Edward's Crown

The St. Edward's Crown
St. Edward's Crown is worn once, by the sovereign at his or her coronation. It was named for Edward the Confessor, the last Anglo-Saxon king of England, and like the Imperial State Crown, is part of the Crown Jewels. There have been two versions of the crown. The first, used in the ninth and tenth centuries, was sold by Oliver Cromwell as a "detestable" symbol of the monarchy. Upon the restoration of the monarchy in 1661, a new version of the crown was made by Sir Robert Vyner, and is still in use today
The crown has been redesigned over the years. Prior to 1911, jewels were hired for the crown then removed after a coronation. At that time, the crown was set with 444 precious and semi-precious stones, including 345 aquamarines, 12 rubies, 7 amethysts, 6 sapphires - but no diamonds. At the same time, faux pearls around the bottom and along the arches of the crown were replaced with gold balls. The final form of the crown has been used for three monarchs' coronations: George V, George VI and Elizabeth II.
